Larry Radick, 66, Loved Music and Working on Cars
Larry Radick, 66, of Lorain, passed away on Saturday, September 9, 2023 at Avon Place, Avon due to cancer complications.
Larry was born in Lorain, February 8, 1957 and was a lifelong resident of Lorain.
In his youth, those who knew Larry believed that he would be a great musician. He could play the piano by ear at the age of five without sheet music. In his teen years, Larry became more interested in working on cars rather than playing the piano. One of his past enjoyments was hanging out at Al’s Body shop tinkering with his car. Larry valued Al’s friendship and enjoyed Al visiting him at Avon Place. Larry enjoyed his visitors that visited him every day while in the hospital and at Avon Place.
Despite his handicap of being blind at the age of 29 and M.S. at the age of 59 did not stop him from living independently for eight years with the help of his cousins and friends. He never lost his interest in music. His pride and joy was his stereo system and his 1976 Datsun that he continually worked on.
Larry is survived by his cousins Tom Klinar, Janice Palmer (Robert), Doris Pippert, Rose Zaborski (Stan), Robert Zanic and Nick Plavsich, niece Tessa Taylor, and friends Kevin Bohach and Al Phillips.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents Agnes and George Radick and brother Kenneth.
His family will receive friends at the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain, Saturday, September 16 from 10 until a Celebration of Life at 11 AM. His burial will follow at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst.
