Mary Ann was born in Lakewood, Ohio on Easter Sunday April 21, 1935, to John and Helen (nee Ceverniak) Dancak; the first of four daughters, she graduated from Lourdes Academy as a member of the class of 1953.

Following a lengthy engagement, she married her husband Robert Majjasie and embarked on a marital union that lasted nearly fifty-nine years prior to his passing in 2016. The couple enjoyed travel and had the opportunity to visit thirty-four of the country’s national parks. They also celebrated one of their anniversaries with a trip to New Zealand and Australia.

Mary Ann began her working career as a secretary for the Foreign Directory Department in Cleveland; she was later employed in food services for the Lorain City Schools.

She was an active parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church where she was a member of the Marian Guild and choir, sat on the Liturgy Commission, and served as a Eucharistic Minister. In addition, she was a faithful member of the pierogi team.

Mary Ann was a certified PSR teacher and thoroughly enjoyed teaching the second-grade class at St. Anthony for more than two decades. She also had served as PSR Principal for ten years. She always professed that her PSR kids were a source of great joy to her, and she liked every minute of the time she spent with them. In acknowledgement of her involvement with the program, the school honored her by establishing a scholarship in her name.

Mary Ann was a faithful fan of the Cleveland Guardians and Cleveland Browns. Other interests included crocheting, knitting, sewing, home decorating, and gardening. Undeniably, her greatest enjoyment came from spending time with her family.
