Amanda J. Kovacs, 43, Known for Her Love of History
Amanda J. Mandy Kovacs, age 43, of Lorain, passed away at Mercy Health Lorain Hospital on the morning of Sunday May 5, 2024 following complications from an unexpected medical emergency.
Born in Elyria on July 19, 1980, Mandy had been a life-long resident of Lorain County.
She was a graduate of Southview High School where she was a varsity letter recipient in both cheerleading and volleyball; she also participated in the school’s music theater program. Following commencement, she attended Ohio University.
Mandy was self-employed as the proprietor of her own home cleaning service.
Known for her love of history, she enjoyed the companionship of her two pet Chihuahuas as well as reading with a special interest in works of nonfiction.
She is survived by her daughters Marlena and Melinda Laboy both of Lorain, father Joseph M. Kovacs also of Lorain and brother Daniel (Dagne) Kovacs residing in Maumee.
Mandy was preceded in death by her mother Kathleen J. Walden (nee Sultzer).
