Bernadette "Bonnie" Laws, 77, Enjoyed Traveling
Bernadette Bonnie (nee Snyder) Laws, 77 of Lorain, passed away peacefully Sunday, May 26, 2024, at New Life Hospice Center, Lorain.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 35 years, John O. Laws, her
parents, Joseph and Clara (nee Sidlovsky) Snyder, step-son John R. Laws.
She is survived by her beloved children, Lorrie Daniels of Lorain, Brian Daniels and Sarah Broadfoot of Amherst, Christine (John) Zura of Sandusky; brother Craig M. (Joni) Snyder, Vermilion. step-son, Robert Laws of Amherst, and in-laws, Sandy (Don) Rottari; aunt Dorothy (Dennis) Morgan; grandchildren Joshua Daniels of Lorain, Michael (Angelique) Daniels of Cuyahoga Falls, Zachary and Zane Zura, both of Sandusky, 5 great-grandchildren.
Bonnie was born on March 25, 1947, in North Charleroi, Pennsylvania. She loved spending her summers on the farm in Pennsylvania. She shared stories about being chased by the bulls in the fields, billy goats butting into her from behind and watching chickens run around with their heads cut off. Bonnie would play for hours and took care of the animals. Bonnie loved it so much she would hide from her parents when they came to get her at end of summer. She always had a cat.
Bonnie grew up in Lorain, and graduated from Lorain High School in 1965. She was married to Monroe Daniels for 15 years, they had 3 children. She married John Laws and remained at his side until his passing in 2022. Bonnie loved to make ceramics. She worked at P&R Ceramics of Lorain. She also crocheted hundreds of afghans, for her family and friends. Bonnie worked at Ohio Extended Care as a loving Nurse’s Assistant for 8 years. She and John enjoyed traveling to Hawaii, Las Vegas and to Disneyland with their grandchildren. She enjoyed playing bingo with her friends at the Lake Point Senior Apartment Center. Bonnie made scrapbooks for each of her children to share her most precious memories.
Loved ones can visit her on Friday, May 31, 2024 from 4:00 to 6:30 PM at Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain. Reverend Donald Frantz, Pastor of First Lutheran Church, Lorain, will officiate the service at 6:30pm.
