Lucille B. Sedivy, 89, Avid Golfer

Photo of Lucille B. Sedivy Lucille B. Sedivy, (nee Potiowsky), age 89, of Lorain, passed away peacefully at Ames Family Hospice in Westlake, Ohio on the afternoon of Friday June 14, 2024.

Born in Lorain on August 19, 1934, Lucy remained a life-long resident of the city.

She graduated from Lorain High School and went on to further her education at the St. Joseph Hospital School of Practical Nursing.

A long-time parishioner and member of the Ladies Guild at St. Peter Parish, Lucy was an avid golfer who participated in leagues at the former Oak Hills Country Club. Additional interests included walking, and attending bingo sessions hosted by a variety of churches throughout the city. Undeniably, her favorite pastime was spending time with her immediate and extended family.

She is survived by daughters Danette Tremaine, Carolyn Gregory (Joseph), Laurie Kopa, Kim Marie Reiser (James), sons Jeff Sedivy and Edward “Bump” Sedivy (Lynne), grandchildren Steven Tremaine, Nina Tremaine, Matt Sedivy, Joe Gregory, A.J. Sedivy, Jack Reiser, Kyle Gregory, Ryan Kopa, Mason Sedivy, and Colin Sedivy, five great grandchildren, and sister Ann Sauvey.

Lucy was preceded in death by her husband Edward Sedivy in 1996, father Peter Potiowsky in 1977, mother Mary Potiowsky (nee Rakowski) in 1981, brothers John Potiowsky in (1986) and Thomas Potiowsky in (2007), along with sisters Clara Wolodzko in 1994, and Constance Schilling in 2005.

Graveside services will take place in Calvary Cemetery (555 North Ridge Road – Lorain) at 10:00 a.m. on Friday June 21st, 2004. Reverend Gerald J. Keller, Pastor Emeritus of St. Adalbert Catholic Church in Berea will officiate. Those wishing to attend are asked to gather and form the processional line along the cemetery’s main drive at 9:45 a.m.
