Noreen Helen Green, 65, Loved Vacations to Maryland to Visit Family
Noreen Helen Green (nee Uleski), age 65, of Elyria, passed away with her family at her side at the Cleveland Clinic Fairview Hospital on the evening of Tuesday, July 2, 2024.Noreen was born in Lorain on January 20, 1959, and had been a resident of Elyria for the past fifteen years.
She was a 1977 graduate of Admiral King High School where she was acknowledged in the Who’s Who in American Music Students for the Bass.
Noreen had been employed as a Dietary Supervisor for Aramark Corporation where she managed the food and dietary service operations at both the Lorain County Juvenile Detention Home as well as the Lorain County Jail retiring from that role in 2015.
A 2018 graduate of the Lorain County Sheriff’s Department Citizens Academy, Noreen was an avid supporter of all local law enforcement agencies and a familiar face at numerous first responder events countywide. In addition, she served as a Power for Pink volunteer and assisted with the annual Kenny Velez golf outing.
Noreen was a Life Member of VFW Post # 1079 in Elyria and had served as the Past President of the Ladies Auxiliary of Mullen-Murray VFW Post # 451 of Lorain for many years.
During her leisure time, she enjoyed vacations to Maryland to visit with her children and grandchildren. Her hobbies included baking, volunteering, and playing the slots at the casino.
Noreen is survived by daughters Stella Sanders (Paul), Jennifer Sweene, and Sarah Wolfgang (Jeff) as well as son James Sweene. She also leaves step-daughter Greta Williams (Dan), and grandchildren Madison Lynn, Owen Sanders, Harper Sanders, Jaclyn Brown, Jasmine Brown, Serenity Eyler-Sweene, Colton Eyler, John Evans, Tori Barone, and Gavin Barone. Additional survivors include sisters Charlene Uleski, and Debra Daher, brothers Bob Uleski and Norbert Uleski (Denise), and many close friends. She was preceded in death by her first husband John Sweene, second husband Joe Green, Father Norbert Uleski, and Mother Charlotte Uleski (Lesiesky).
The family will receive friends Tuesday July 9, 2024 from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway, Lorain. Please join her family for the celebration of her Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday July 10, 2024 at 10:00 am at St. Mary Catholic Church (corner of 8th Street and Reid Avenue) Lorain. Father Daniel Divis, pastor, will preside. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
