Judith A. Leeper, 83, Enjoyed Crossword and Jigsaw Puzzles
Judith A. Leeper (nee Tobak), age 83, of Sheffield Township, passed away at Mercy Health Lorain Hospital on the morning of Monday July 29, 2024.She was born in North Union Township, Uniontown Pennsylvania and was a 1958 graduate of North Union High School.
Judy moved to Ohio in 1961. Throughout her life she held a variety of part-time employment positions in both Pennsylvania and Ohio while also serving as a volunteer and generous financial supporter of local charitable organizations.
She was a parishioner of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Elyria Township where she was a former Eucharistic Minister and member of the Altar & Rosary Society.
Judy remained an ardent fan of both the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates. In her free time she enjoyed the challenges posed by crossword and jigsaw puzzles. She was also an accomplished baker; amongst her favorite kitchen projects were plentiful annual batches of her epic Christmas Cookies.
She is survived by sons Raymond A. Leeper of Lorain and Michael Leeper (Shannan) of Mansfield, along with daughter Christine Osborne (James) residing in Grafton. Additional survivors include grandchildren Emilia Osborne, Nicholas Leeper, Lizzie Osborne, David Leeper, Jr., Kathleen Leeper, and Mary Leeper, as well as her brother Steven Tobak of Uniontown.
Judy was preceded in death by her husband Raymond Leeper in 1998, son David Leeper, Sr. in 2012, father Michael Tobak, mother Lillian Gilbert (Giberti), brothers Michael, David, and Daniel Tobak, and sister Marian Cole.
Graveside services under the direction of the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel were conducted privately for the family in Calvary Cemetery with Reverend Neil G. Walters, Pastor of St Vincent de Paul Catholic Church officiating.
