Ingeborg Stemkowski, 95, Enjoyed Sewing, Knitting, and Cooking
Ingeborg “Inge” Stemkowski (nee Pohlmann), 95, of Lorain, died Monday January 13, 2025 at Mercy New Life Hospice in Lorain
She was born December 30, 1929 in Schweinfurt, Germany to Franz & Elizabeth Pohlmann (nee Benkert) and had resided in Lorain most of her life.
Inge had worked at Hills Department Store before retiring. She was a life member of the ladies auxiliaries of VFW Post #451 and DAV #20, both in Lorain. She was a member of St Peter Parish and the former St Stanislaus Catholic Church. Inge enjoyed sewing, knitting and cooking.
She is surivived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 � years John Stemkowski, her parents, brother Roland Pohlmann and sister Eleonore Englert.
Her family will receive friends Saturday January 18, 2025 from 10:00 am until the time of funeral services at 11:00 am at Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway, Lorain. The Rev Craig Hovanec, pastor of St Peter Parish, will preside. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
