Mina Mariette Shank, 88, Enjoyed Bowling and Camping
Mina Mariette Shank (nee Gardner), 88, of Amherst Township, died Thursday January 30, 2025 at Mercy Health Lorain Hospital
She was born August 11, 1936 in Butte, Montana to George & Katherine Gardner (nee Barrow) and had resided in the Amherst Township area most of her life.
Mariette worked at Green Circle Growers for 33 years. She also rode along with her husband Bob as he was a truck driver.
Mariette enjoyed spending time with her family, bowling, camping, ceramics and attending the Lorain County fair. She was a member of the Red Hat Society.
She is survived by her children: Rev Robert C. Shank Jr (Debbie), Bonnie Hall, Becky Barris (Doug) and Barbie Sagert; 11 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; brother Russell Gardner (Charlotte), sister Jane Hufstedler (Dick) and brother George “Butch” Gardner (Debbie) and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert C. Shank Sr, daughters: Beth Cullen & Brenda Havas, granddaughter Courtney Nichols, grandson Brian Kindrick, her parents and brother Buster Gardner.
The family will receive friends Monday February 3, 2025 from 3:00-7:00 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway, Lorain. Funeral services will be held Tuesday February 4, 2025 at 11:00 am in the funeral chapel. Mariette’s son, The Rev Robert C. Shank Jr, pastor of Praise Chapel Assembly of God in Akron, will preside. Burial will follow in River Road Cemetery in Lagrange.
