Patricia A. Muzik, 82, Adored Spending Time with Family and Friends

Photo of Patricia A. Muzik Patricia A. “Pat” Muzik (nee Holiday), 82, of Lorain, passed away peacefully Saturday February 15, 2025 at her home after a long illness.

She was born December 17, 1942 in Lorain to Frank & Stella Holiday (nee Stawicki) and had been a lifelong Lorain resident.

Pat graduated from Lorain High class of 1961 B. She worked as a bookkeeper at the family owned Muzik’s Auto Care in Lorain for over 10 years, retiring in 2008. She had also worked at the Lorain Journal, Lorain County Probate Court and Margie’s Hallmark.

Pat adored spending time with family and friends. Nothing is more evident than the holiday gatherings she hosted, attending her grandchildren’s sporting events and traveling the world. She never missed the opportunity to send cards and notes for special occasions to people. Her six grandchildren meant the world to her. The pride she had in all of them was evident whenever she spoke about them. She found happiness spending time with her grandchildren doing things they each enjoyed which included playing Racko, Scrabble, Bingo and coloring endless pictures. Most importantly, she always said, “What happens at Grandma’s, stays at Grandma’s”.

Pat and her husband Rich traveled extensively, having visited 49 states, 28 national parks and many Caribbean Islands as well as Costa Rica, Mexico, Switzerland, Montreal, Toronto and Quebec. In the winter months you would find Pat sitting on a Florida beach with a book in hand, looking for shark teeth surrounded by Rich and her in-laws (Paul and Barb and Dennis and Shary Muzik). They would find adventures in antiquing and dining at unique restaurants.
Her witty humor showed itself with her one liners, “Oh Phooey” when something didn’t go right, or “I don’t have any quarters to give you” when someone gave her a compliment.

She was a member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Lorain and the church Altar & Rosary Society.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years Richard Muzik; children: Stephanie Kramer (Dan) of Amherst, Michael Muzik of Portland, Oregon and John Muzik (Nickole) of Lorain; grandchildren: Emma Kramer, Jacob Kramer, Joey Kramer, Hugh Muzik, Lincoln Muzik and Violet Muzik and brother Frank Holiday of Lorain. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Stella and brother James Holiday.

The family will receive friends Saturday February 22, 2025 from 9:30 am until 11:00 am at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 418 W 15th St, Lorain where the Nativity Altar & Rosary society will pray the rosary Saturday at 10:30 am. The mass of Christian Burial will be held immediately following visiting hours at 11:00 am in the church. The Rev. Gerald Keller will preside. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Nativity BVM Catholic Church (Lorain), the National Parks at ncpa.org, the American Cancer Society or Hospice of the Western Reserve.
