Lillian DeLeon, 79, Had a Passion for Helping Others

Lillian leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion and as she would always say, She was blessed. Her kindness radiated through her and to know her, you would know her faith was a guiding force in her life, and she shared that faith with everyone she met. She was an active member of Sacred Heart Church, Lorain.
She worked for many years at Kmart, the Novelty store and as a cafeteria worker in Lorain City Schools. Lillian had a love for children and adored all three of her grandchildren. She had a passion for helping others and always had a kind word and helping hand to offer.
Lillian will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her kindness, love and generosity will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
Lillian is survived by her three children, Katherine (Bland) Miles, Felix DeLeon and Sonia (Daniel) Rodriguez; grandchildren Cody, Mariah and Daniel; Siblings, Edwin Soto, Diane Dismuke, Efrain Soto, Sylvia Brown, Rolando Soto Sr., Ricardo Soto and Alicia Soto.
Other than her parents, Lillian was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Felix DeLeon; sisters, Sonia Soto, Iris Gonzalez, Anna Irizarry, Nellie Salva & Edivia Gabriel and a brother, Domingo Soto Jr.
Her family will receive friends at Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain, Sunday, February 23 from 2:00pm to 6:00pm. Visitation will be held at Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Avenue, Lorain, Monday, February 24th from 8:30 until 9:30 Mass of Christian Burial. Rev. Father William A. Thaden will officiate. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain, Ohio.
