Martha A. Ralston, 75, Loved Cats

Martha A. Ralston (nee Nagy), age 75, of Lorain, passed away peacefully at her residence on the morning of Wednesday March 12, 2025.

Marti was born in Lorain and had been a life-long resident of the city.

She attended Admiral King High School and was a member of the graduating class of 1967; while enrolled there, she played clarinet in the school’s marching band. She later attended classes at Lorain County Community College.

Marti had been employed in the Production Planning Department of U.S. Steel Corporation’s Lorain-Cuyahoga Works. A member of United Steelworker’s Local 1104, she served the steel producer for more than two decades prior to her retirement. She, along with her husband, Bill, also owned and operated Time and Again Antiques in Lorain for twenty-two years.

A parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Amherst, Marti loved cats and received relaxation from attending antique shows and flower gardening.

She is survived by her husband of forty-eight years William “Bill” Ralston, sister-in-law Mary Hollenbaugh of Lake Elsinore, California, and five nieces.

Marti was preceded in death by her father Stephen Nagy, mother Rose B. Nagy (nee Czipa), sister Rose M. Drozdowski, and brother Robert Nagy who was killed in action during the Vietnam War.

Visitation will be Monday March 17th from 12:00 noon until the time of funeral services at 1:00 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel – 3224 Broadway, Lorain. Reverend Timothy J. O’Connor, Pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
