Robert J. Iski, 81, Loved His Harley Davidson Motorcycle

He was born on December 29, 1943 in Lorain, graduated from Lorain High School with the class of 1961 B, attended the Ohio State University and was a graduate of Lorain County Community College in 1967.
Bob worked for the Lorain County Sheriff’s Department as its Vehicle Maintenance Coordinator retiring after 23 years.
Bob’s special love was his Harley Davidson motorcycle. He did flat track racing with Kennedy Triumph and was a mechanic with their racing team as well as the F&S Harley Davidson racing teams in Dayton. From 1966-1973, he held a professional racing license with the American Motorcycle Association where he was a charter & life member and a member of Harley Owners Group (HOG).
Bob did multiple road trips riding in the wind on his motorcycle to attend the annual bike week motorcycle rally in Sturgis, South Dakota. He did the trips accompanied by his late brother Jim and his fellow biker friends. However, Bob’s motorcycle days ended too soon due to his diagnosis of Parkinson Disease where he bravely fought with its ramifications for 16 years.
Bob was an avid Ohio State football and basketball fan and claimed to bleed scarlet and gray He enjoyed following televised NASCAR races and was also a movie buff who enjoyed watching Turner Classic movies.
He is survived by his sister Judith Bellush Miadock (Thomas), brother Joseph J Bellush (Terri), nieces Kristine Miadock Shuey (Michael), Jacqueline Miadock Meister (Eric), Janet Bellush and Karyn Bellush and stepdaughters Sandy Mitchell and Jessie Songer. He was preceded in death by his father John S Iski Jr who was killed in action during the Battle of the Bulge in Bastogne, Belgium on December 23, 1944, his mother Elizabeth J Iski-Bellush (nee Holp), stepfather George J. Bellush, brother James J. Bellush and partner BJ McGee.
The family will receive friends Monday April 21, 2025 from 2:00-4:00 pm and 6:00-8:00 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway, Lorain. Funeral services will be held Tuesday April 22, 2025 at 11:00 am in the funeral chapel with The Rev. Charles Diedrick, pastor of St Mary Catholic Church in Elyria, presiding. Cremation will follow and his ashes will be buried in a private family ceremony at Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst Township.
