Phyllis Margaret Holomuzki, 91, Enjoyed Trips to Las Vegas

Photo of Phyllis Margaret Holomuzki After 91 years of life, Phyllis Margaret Holomuzki (née Litkovitz) of Lorain entered eternal rest on Thursday, December 25, 2025.

Phyllis was born on November 14, 1934, in Lorain to her loving parents, Walter and Bernice Litkovitz (née Zajkowski). She graduated from St. Mary High School in 1952 and maintained close friendships with her classmates for decades. In 1954, Phyllis married her sweetheart, Bob, and together they began their family.

While raising her four children, Phyllis worked several part-time jobs and may have been your Avon Lady! One of her greatest accomplishments was earning a master’s-level certificate in religious education and teaching PSR at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary and St. Mary for more than 50 years. Phyllis was a deeply prayerful woman with a special devotion to the Blessed Mother, whom she honored by praying the rosary several times each day. Bingo games with her mother, trips to Las Vegas, bowling, and time spent with her cousins were among Phyllis’s favorite joys.

She was preceded in death by her adoring husband, Bob “Moose” Holomuzki; her brother, Walter Litkovitz; and her parents.

Phyllis is survived by her children: Maryjo Holomuzki (Alan Zgonc) of Lorain, Robert Holomuzki (Maggie) of Reynoldsburg, Sandra Jenkins (Mel) of Lorain, and John Holomuzki of Elyria; her brother, Ted Litkovitz (Kathy) of Amherst; her sister-in-law, Dina Litkovitz of Montgomery, Ohio; six granddaughters, Courtney Whitmer (Matt) of Beaver Falls, PA, Meredith, Mari, Alexandra, and Laura; and two great-granddaughters, Cheyenne Whitmer and Lydia Holomuzki.

The family would like to thank Amedisys Hospice and, especially, the staff at Sprenger Assisted Living at Anchor Lodge for their loving care and attentiveness over the years.

Visitation is open to family and friends on Friday, January 2, 2026, from 2:00–6:00 p.m. at Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway, Lorain. Additional visitation will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 418 W. 15th Street, Lorain (please meet at the church). The Rev. Craig Hovanec, pastor, along with the Rev. Joseph Hilinski, will concelebrate. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.

In honor of Phyllis’s prayerful life, memorial contributions may be made to Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church or Blessing House.
