Marcella A. Majzun, 84, Found Great Joy in Gardening and Cooking
Marcella A. Majzun (nee Glowinski), 84, of Amherst, died Thursday February 5, 2026 at Welcome Nursing Home in Oberlin after a lengthy illness.
She was born January 16, 1942 in Lorain and had been a lifelong area resident.
Marcy graduated from Clearview High School. She worked as a beautician and later as a bookkeeper for the family business, Majzun Construction.
Marcy was a member of St Peter Parish in Lorain and Oberlin Golf Club where she played in the women’s golf league. She found great joy in gardening, cooking, golfing, time at the beach and being with her family
She is survived by her husband of 63 years Chris S. Majzun; children: Chris Majzun Jr. (Sue) and Carrie Bearden (Creed); grandchildren: Sara, Emily, Christopher and Alexandra; 2 great grandchildren and siblings: Barb Nagy (Rich), Dave Glowinski (Janet) and Marie Urbanik (Dave). She was preceded in death by her parents Theodore & Wanda Glowinski (nee Tarski) and brother Donald Glowinski.
The family will receive friends Tuesday February 10, 2026 from 4:00-8:00 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway, Lorain. Funeral services will be held Wednesday February 11, 2026 at 10:30 am in the funeral chapel followed by the mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am at St Peter Parish, 3655 Oberlin Ave, Lorain. The Rev Frank Kosem will preside. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
