Benjamin A. Caco, 86, Had a Passion for Golf

Photo of Benjamin A. Caco Benjamin A. Caco, 86, of Lorain, passed away Tuesday February 17th 2026 at Kingston of Vermilion.

He was born February 28, 1939 in Lorain to William and Josephine (nee Krol) Caco. Ben graduated from Clearview High School in 1957 and was a standout in basketball for the Clippers. He is honored on the Clearview Wall of Fame and a member of the Lorain Sports Hall of Fame.

Ben worked for the Ford Motor Company for 30 years retiring as a Senior Trim engineer.

His passion over the years was golf and watching his sons and grandchildren in numerous sports. He coached baseball and basketball for many years for CYO and Lorain Little League. He recorded several holes in one and was a member, owner, and maintenance crew member at Oak Hills Country Club, Lorain Country Club, and FoxCreek Golf course since 1960.

He is survived by his wife, Doris (nee Bryner), sons Scott (Lisa) of Lorain and Jeff of Venice, Florida; his granddaughters Lauren Ellis (Chris) and Erica Caco as well as several nieces and many close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Josephine Kubasak and brother William Caco.

The family would like to thank the staff at Kingston of Vermilion and Mercy New Life Hospice by Compassus for their compassion and outstanding care. Per Ben’s wishes, there will be no service. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
