Rebecca J. Haller, 65, Enjoyed Cooking
Rebecca J. Haller, 65, of Odessa, Florida and formerly of Lorain, passed away peacefully Wednesday February 18, 2026 at the home of her daughter Chawnda.
She was surrounded by love and warmth while under the care of Gulfside Hospice.
She was born December 26, 1960 in Grafton, West Virginia to Junior & JoAnn Haller (nee Lautner). She resided in the Lorain area most of her life as a single bachelorette. She had recently moved to Florida where she enjoyed sitting in the warm sun, searching for alligators in the ponds and eating good seafood.
She graduated from Clearview High School in 1979, where she was 8th in her class. She worked as a beautician and would later transition to a precision logistics operator. She enjoyed cooking and was known for her Italian cream cake, steak and mushroom gravy and many other amazing dishes. Rebecca also enjoyed intriguing crime cases, shopping, Elvis Presley and dining at unique restaurants.
She is survived by her daughter Chawnda Szudlo (Mark) and grandchildren Isabel and Alex Szudlo and sisters: Carole Bare, Maureen Payne, Tracy Lewis and Juanita Hardy. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Curtis Haller.
The family will receive friends Friday February 27, 2026 from 5:00-8:00 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway, Lorain. Funeral services will be held Saturday February 28, 2026 at 10:30 am in the funeral chapel with the Rev Danny Parsons presiding. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst Twp.
