Beverlee J. Strohsack, 80, Dedicated Homemaker & Devoted Wife, Mother and Grandmother

Photo of Beverlee J. Strohsack Beverlee J. Strohsack (nee Arndt), age 80, of Lorain, passed away peacefully at the Cleveland Clinic Main Campus on the afternoon of Sunday March 1, 2026.

Bev was born in Elyria on November 3, 1945 and had been a resident of Lorain since 1978 coming from Elyria, A 1963 graduate of Elyria High School, she was a dedicated homemaker, devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.

Bev attended the Community Congregational United Church of Christ in Amherst.

She loved flowers and was well-known for her prowess in creating floral arrangements for home décor and as gifts to friends and neighbors. In addition, she found peace in being close to the water and enjoyed both fishing and boating. Since 2000, Bev looked forward to escaping the harsh northern Ohio winters by travelling to a winter retreat in Palm Island, Florida.

She is survived by her husband of sixty-one years James, along with sons Brian (Nicole) of Lorain and Gregory residing in Whittier, California. Additional survivors include granddaughters Jena and Olivia Strohsack both of Lorain as well as her brother Gerald Arndt (Gail) residing in North Fort Myers Beach, Florida.

Bev was preceded in death by her father Clayton A. Arndt, mother Marguerite P. Arndt (nee Oswald), and stepmother Helen E. Drahos.

Visitation will be Wednesday March 4th from 2 to 4 and 6 until 8 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel – 3224 Broadway, Lorain. Funeral services will be there Thursday March 5th at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Brian Russell presiding. Burial will follow in Elmhusrt Park Cemetery in Avon.
