Felix T. Carrion, 95, United States Marine Corp. Veteran

Photo of Felix T. Carrion Felix T. Carrion, 95 of Lorain, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, veteran, and man of deep faith, passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

Felix was born January 7, 1931, in San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico, to Hermogenes and Pilar Carrion. One of fourteen children, he was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Domingo, Ignacio, Ernesta, Genaro, Sr. Joaquina Carrion, MSBT, Selsa, Felipe, Felisa, and Paulita. He is survived by his brother Louis Carrion (Nicza) and sisters Isabel Van Deventer (Don, deceased), Regina Medina (Frank, deceased), and Maria Berrios (Carlos).

Felix shared 65 loving years of marriage with his beloved wife, Margarita Carrion. He is also survived by his children Felix Carrion (Elizabeth), Reynaldo Carrion (Orquidia), and Lissette Carrion; and his five cherished grandchildren Selina, Jasmine, Jesse, Reynaldo Jr., and Alexis. Felix was also blessed with thirteen great-grandchildren.

Felix graduated from San Lorenzo High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in business from Mount St. Mary’s College in Maryland. While in college he sang with the Mount St. Mary’s Glee Club and also participated in the University of Puerto Rico Choir and San Idelfonso Choir. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War.

Felix later served as Regional Director for FOMENTO, Puerto Rico’s Economic Development Administration, helping recruit American industries to the island. He also held licenses as a Real Estate agent and Notary Public in San Juan, Puerto Rico and Lorain, Ohio.

A lifelong public servant, Felix was active in civic, community, and political life. He was a member of the Democratic Party and served as an Elections Presiding Judge in Puerto Rico and Lorain, as well as Deputy Registrar. In Lorain he also served on the Mayor’s City Committee for Decency and Morality under Mayor Olejko. He was affiliated with the Fraternal Order of Police, VFW Post 48, the American Legion, and the Lions Club.

Felix was deeply committed to community service. He founded the Asociación Recreativa de Park Gardens and served as President of Park Gardens Little League, supporting youth and neighborhood development. His leadership helped establish the Centro Comunal de Park Gardens, to improve local recreation facilities in Rio Piedras.

A devoted member of Sacred Heart Chapel in Lorain, Felix served as a Mass lector, bilingual translator, member of the Finance Council, Vice President of the Parish Council, and publisher-editor of the parish’s annual festival publication for ten years.

Felix had an extraordinary ability to make the impossible seem possible. His tireless work ethic, vision, and selfless devotion to others left an indelible mark on everyone he encountered. Whether through his faith, his service to his country, his professional achievements, or his dedication to his community, Felix lived a life defined by generosity, leadership, and love.

His family will receive friends at Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain, Thursday, March 19, 2026, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM and Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Ave, Lorain, Ohio 44055, Friday, March 20, from 8:30 AM until 9:30 AM Mass of Christian Burial. Rev. Father Alex Spenik, Pastor officiating. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain. Military Honors will be provided by AMVETS Post 32 of Elyria.
