Robert M. Parrish, 75, U.S. Air Force Veteran
Robert M. Parrish, age 75, of Elyria, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, March 15th, 2026. He was born on July 25th, 1950, in Lorain, Ohio.
Robert was a graduate of Lorain High School, class of 1968 and honorably served his country in the United States Air Force, a role he carried with pride throughout his life. He worked at U.S. Steel in Lorain following his time in service, and continued work in manufacturing for many years before his retirement in 2012. He was also a proud member of American Legion Post 12.
On a foundation of love and commitment, Robert was married to his beloved wife, Loretta, for 47 years. Together they built a life and home in Elyria, where they resided since 1979, creating countless memories with family and friends.
He loved boating, fishing, hunting, golf, and working in the yard. He was an avid dog lover, fan of Pink Floyd and country music, and never missed cheering on his favorite teamsthe Cleveland Indians, the Browns, and Ohio State. He loved a good thunderstorm and a cold Budweiser, always finding happiness in everyday moments.
Above all, Robert was a devoted family man. He cherished time spent with his wife and children, Mark and Katie. He was a loving grandfather to his two granddaughters, Rae and Evelyn, who affectionately called him Pa-Pa, a role he embraced with great pride and joy.
Robert will be remembered for his warmth, humor, and love for his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Robert is survived by his wife Loretta (nee Brink); son Mark Parrish (Tegan) of Davenport, Iowa and daughter Kate Coyle (Ben) both currently serving with the United States Navy in Norfolk, Virginia. Additional survivors include his granddaughters Rae and Evelyn Parrish, both of Davenport, as well as several nieces and one nephew.
Robert was preceded in death by his father Vincent Lynn Parrish in 1974, mother Agnes Parrish (nee Benson) in 1995, sister Carol Nekich in 1984, and brother Vern Parrish in 2019.
Visitation will be held Friday, March 20th from 9:00 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 11:00 a.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel - 3224 Broadway, Lorain. Reverend John P. Seabold, Pastor of Our Lady Queen of Peace Parish in Grafton, will officiate. Robert will be laid to rest at Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst Township following funeral services with military honors conducted by VFW Post # 1079 of Elyria.
