Pamela A. Bucci, 71, Enjoyed Decorating and Gardening
Pamela A. Bucci (nee Demyan), age 71, of Amherst Township, passed away at University Hospital Cleveland Medical Center during the early morning hours of Saturday April 4, 2026.
Pam was born in Lorain on March 18, 1955 and remained a life-long resident of Lorain County. She resided in Amherst Township for the past three years moving from Sheffield Lake.
Pam graduated from Lorain High School with honors and ranked fourth in the Class of 1973. While enrolled there she was a member of the National Honor Society, Concert Choir, the Concerteers Chorale, and also served as a Health Careers officer.
Following graduation, she completed studies at the St. Joseph Hospital School of Practical Nursing, where she was the President of her nursing class. After completing her state licensing exams, she was employed as a Licensed Practical Nurse at St. Joseph Hospital, Lorain Community Hospital, the Ohio Extended Care Center, Oak Hills Nursing Home, and the Kendall at Oberlin. In 1998 she received certification as a social worker and joined Sprenger Enterprises; she worked as a social worker until the time of her retirement in 2008.
In her free time, she exhibited diligence in decorating and maintaining her residence’s curb appeal, growing house plants and flower and vegetable gardening. She found additional enjoyment in listening to rock-n-roll music, dancing, and playing bingo, especially at VFW Post 451 where she was the luckiest.
She is survived by her husband of forty-three years James V. Bucci, son Bryan Bucci, Sr. (Bethany) of Lorain, and daughter Bethany Joseph of North Royalton. Additional survivors include grandchildren: Gabriela Amador, Jeremy Bodnar, Adianna Bucci, Logan Bodnar, Bryan Bucci, Jr., Avery Joseph, Sebastian Bucci, Troy Joseph, and Caisen Stone. She also leaves sisters Christine Parrot, Sandra Hoff, Sharon Brill, and Rhonda Bullins.
Pam was preceded in death by her parents Ronald and Elizabeth (nee Fox) Loterbaugh, and brother Kenneth Demyan.
Visitation will be Thursday April 9th from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. until the time of funeral services at 7:00 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel 3224 Broadway, Lorain Services will begin with a memorial tribute conducted by representatives of the Northeast Ohio Nurse Honor Guard and be followed by a message delivered by Reverend Jared Harper, Pastor of the Abundant Life Christian Center of Lorain County.
