Jennifer Pauley, 36, Cherished Every Moment With Her Children

Photo of Jennifer  Pauley Jennifer Pauley, age 36, of Lorain, passed away at University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center on Friday May 1, 2026 following an illness of slightly longer than one year.

Jennifer was born in Cleveland, but was a life-long resident of Lorain. She had been employed as an S.T.N.A. for several local nursing homes including Autumn Aegis.

Jennifer’s children were extremely important elements in her life and she cherished every moment she was able to spend with them, especially those marathon video game sessions. When not engaged with her family she enjoyed studying religion and theology and liked reading books relating to that subject matter.

She is survived by children Rebekah Pauley, Ellaina Pauley, Christina Ricks, Elijah Pauley, Olivia Ricks, and Ember Ricks. She also leaves her fiancée Scott Ricks, father Denzil Pauley and his children residing in Charleston, West Virginia, sister Kristy Kodman (Andrew) of Lorain, brothers Robert Simonovich ( Rebbecca) of Akron, Pat Simonovich (Anne) of Federal Way, Washington, and Daniel Simonovich of Lorain. Additional survivors include several nieces and nephews.

Jennifer was preceded in death by her mother Rebecca DiMarzio in 2020 along with both sets of maternal and paternal grandparents.

A graveside service will be conducted Friday May 22, 2026 at 12:00 noon in Ridge Hill Memorial Park – 44805 North Ridge Road, Amherst. Reverend Neil G. Walters, Pastor of St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Parish and St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church will officiate. Those attending are asked to assemble along the main entrance boulevard of the cemetery by 11:45 a.m. to join the cortege to the grave site.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory are encouraged to Jenny’s family to benefit her children.
