Photo of Patricia L. Skidmore With hearts full of gratitude and sorrow, we announce the passing of our loving mother, Patricia L. Skidmore (nee Koba), Friday May 8, 2026 at the Holy Family Home in Parma after a lengthy illness.

She was born November 24, 1944 in Baltimore, Maryland to Leo J. & Alma Koba (nee Hatch). While living in Boston, she met her husband, Fred and they moved to Lorain.

Pat worked for St. Mary’s and Holy Trinity, Avon as an intervention specialist for 27 years, retiring in 2009. She devoted herself to her husband, who suffered many years of MS, giving him the best care a wife could give. She built a life defined by devotion to her family and friends. Pat loved her occupation and all the children she taught throughout her career. Prior to that, she taught reading at Stonehan schools in Massachusetts.

Those who knew Pat, lovingly known to her family as GP (Grandma Patty). Loved by many, she was the most unselfish, giving person to all she knew. Her laugh and spirit for life was truly infectious. She made her home a place full of love and celebration for all to gather.
Heaven received a ray of sunshine, she will forever shine her love upon us.

She is survived by children: James L. Skidmore of Lorain, Laura A.
