Allan Anthony Sadowski, 79, Vietnam War Veteran
Allan Anthony Sadowski, age 79, passed away on May 27, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. He was born on October 20, 1946 in Lorain, Ohio.
Allan was known for his unfounded dedication to both his family and friends. He graduated in 1965 from Lorain High School and obtained an Associate’s degree in Business from Lorain County Community College.
He devoted his life to his country by serving in the Vietnam War as an Air Force Sergeant attached to the 436th Fighter Maintenance Squadron; he was an airplane mechanic serving throughout the demilitarized zones of Southeast Asia. Allan was awarded the Air and Space Commendation Medal, the Air Force Good Conduct Medal, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, the National Defense Service Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal with one Bronze Service Star.
Before and after his military tenure, Allan worked as an electrical repair technician for U.S. Steel Corporation.
Outside of work, Allan found joy in bowling, volunteering for both Lorain Little League and the Admiral King High School marching band, and school events with his children.
Allan was a life member of Mullen-Murray VFW Post #451 in Lorain as well as a cultural member of the Polish American Citizens Club, Pulaski Post # 37 of the Polish Legion of American Veterans, and the United Polish Club.
Allan is survived by his wife, Ida Ann Sadowski (nee Balogh), daughter Pamela (Thom) Krutkiewicz, son Christopher (Holly) Sadowski, daughter Deanna Sadowski and six grandchildren.
Allan was preceded in death by his mother Veronica T. Nowicki (nee Drop), step-father Herman Nowicki, brother Daniel P. Sadowski and father Anthony Sadowski.
Private funeral services were observed in Ridge Hill Memorial Park with full military burial rites performed by Amvets Post # 32 of Elyria.
