Ronald K. Leazier Sr., 64, Cleveland Sports Fan
Ronald K. Bubba Leazier Sr, 64, of Amherst, died Thursday June 4, 2026 at his home after a long illness.
Ron was born April 20, 1962 in Lorain to Jack and Donna Leazier (nee Saylor). He grew up in Lorain and graduated from Southview High School where he lettered in varsity baseball.
Bubba worked at Ford assembly plants in Lorain, Avon Lake, Dearborn, Michigan, Chicago and Louisville, Kentucky. After working in Louisville for 5 years, he returned to work in Avon Lake retiring as a supervisor of chassis in 2016.
Bubba was a huge Cleveland sports fan. He coached his children’s baseball teams and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren who called him Happy and Papa Ron. He was always a caring and giving person.
He is survived by his children: Devin King (Melanie), Chelsea Leazier, Brandon Leazier (Courtney), Ronald Leazier Jr (Melony) and Skylar McDonald; grandchildren: Lukas King, baby boy King on the way, Maci Duty, Wyatt Short, Kingston Towles, Olivia Towles and Jaxton Leazier; sister Cindy Board; brother-in-law Frank Hatfield and granddogs Bruce and Rory Leazier. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Debra Konieczny and Carol Hatfield and brother Jack Leazier Jr.
The family will receive friends Thursday June 11, 2026 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway, Lorain. Funeral services will be held Friday June 12, 2026 at 11:00 am in the funeral chapel. Rev Eric Baez of Church of Jesus Christ will preside. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst Township.
