Joanne M Mrosko, 86, Loved to Travel
Joanne M. Mrosko, born in Lorain, Ohio, on April 4, 1940, the only child of John and Anne (nee Urda) Timko, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by family and friends on Wednesday June 17, 2026.
Joanne attended Holy Trinity Catholic School and graduated from Lorain High School Class of 1958B. After graduation, she attended Lorain Business School. She worked in the payroll department at Nelson Stud and then at Style Center in Lorain. She then became a teller at Central Bank at Sheffield Center.
She retired from the bank to raise her family. In 1978, she became secretary at St. Byzantine Catholic School, Lorain, for 24 years, retiring in 2002 and was a long-time member of the church. She was also a member of First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association and St Ann Lodge #114.
Joanne and her husband Michael had a great love of travel and treasured their trips to Alaska, Hawaii, Panama, the Grand Canyon, and many other places.
She is survived by her sons: David Mrosko (Joanne), Christopher Mrosko, grandchildren Kayla, Alexander, and Sophia; two great-granddaughters and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years Michael Mrosko Jr and her parents.
The family will receive friends Tuesday June 23, 2026 from 4:00-7:00 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway, Lorain where the Parastas Service will be held Tuesday at 6:00 pm. A prayer service will be held Wednesday June 24, 2026 at 9:30 am in the funeral chapel followed by the Divine Liturgy at 10:00 am in the St Peter Notre Dame Chapel located in the Parish Center of St Peter Parish, 3655 Oberlin Ave, Lorain. The Rev Vasyl Kupar will preside. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
