Norma J. Crnko, 89, Will Be Dearly Missed

Photo of Norma J.  Crnko Norma J. Crnko (nee Kalo), age 89, longtime resident of Sheffield Lake, passed away peacefully at Reserve Care Ames Family Hospice House on the evening of Monday June 22, 2026.

Norma was born in Lorain on August 10, 1936 and spent the majority of her life as a resident of Sheffield Lake. She was a graduate of Brookside High School where she was a member of the varsity cheerleading squad during her enrollment there.

Norma had been employed in a variety of roles within the Sheffield – Sheffield Lake School System prior to her retirement.

She formerly attended the First United Presbyterian Church in South Lorain; most recently she has been a member of the congregation at Avon United Methodist Church in Avon.

Norma is survived by her sons Tom (Sandi) Crnko of Lewis Center, Ohio and Tim (Brenda) Crnko of Sheffield Village. She also leaves grandson Tim (Ellen) Crnko, Jr., granddaughter Nicole Crnko, great grandson Cameron Crnko, brother Dave Kalo of Diamondhead, Mississippi, and sisters Linda (Mike) Kotowski of Avon Lake and Wanda (Ed) Ducsak of North Las Vegas, Nevada.

She was preceded in death by her husband Tom Crnko in 2013, father Lewis J. Kalo, mother Lucetta Mae Kalo (nee Trostle), brothers Ted and Dan Kalo, and sisters Arlene Sprouse and Phyllis Minor.

Visitation will be Thursday June 25th from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel – 3224 Broadway, Lorain. Funeral services will take place Friday June 26th at 11:00 a.m. in the Avon United Methodist Church – 37711 Detroit Road, Avon. Reverend Dan Johnson will officiate. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memory Gardens in Avon.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Norma’s memory are encouraged to the Reserve Care Hospice.
