Gail Urbanek, 86, Enjoyed Sewing and Needlecraft

She was born in Lorain and was a graduate of Lorain High School; Gail had been a resident of Vermilion for more than two decades.

She had been employed as the Court Administrator for Judge Robert Ewers from 1979 until 2001. Previously, she had worked at the offices of Lorain County Employment Services as well as Freuhauf Trailer Corporation.

A former parishioner of St. Peter Parish in Lorain, Gail enjoyed sewing and needlecraft and was regarded as a master craft seamstress. In addition, she was a significant contributor and supporter of the varsity sports programs at Admiral King High School. Gail received her greatest fulfillment, however, from her role as an engaged and relevant presence in the lives of her children and grandchildren.

She leaves her husband of sixty-two years Alan F. Urbanek, along with daughter Beth Williams (John) of Huron and son David Urbanek (Aneena) of Edwards, Colorado. Additional survivors include her grandchildren Alanna & Ayla Williams, Zachary, Alexandra, and Jacob Urbanek and brother Bobby Reid (Marie).

She was preceded in death by her father Robert Reid, mother Dorothy Lerner, and brother Tim Reid.

Private family funeral services will be conducted under the direction of the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel with Reverend Craig M. Hovanec presiding. Entombment will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
