William J. Lepkowski, 74, Enjoyed Golf and Bowling

He was born June 25, 1952 in Lorain to Stanley and Virginia Lepkowski (nee Stelmack) and had been a lifelong Lorain area resident.

Bill graduated from Lorain High School in 1970 where he played football. After graduation he worked at The Lorain Creamery for a few years before being hired at Goodman Beverage Co. There he made his decades-long career, first starting as a warehouse worker and driver, but then earning a position as Warehouse Manager. He retired from the company, now called Heidelberg Distributing, in 2018, after an impressive 45 years.

Over the years Bill participated in many bowling and golf leagues. He enjoyed watching football, baseball and golf on television. He also loved music and going to concerts. Bill always said his greatest accomplishment in life was his children, Hayley and Justin. While they were growing, he took great pride in being a “soccer dad” and loved watching them play, as well as all the road trips that were involved.

He is survived by his children: Hayley and Justin and their mom Beth; sisters: Janice Bodnar (Jim) and Linda Hambly, and nephews Adam Kane (Ila), Sean Kane (Tara) and David Kane (Angie). He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother-in-law Bruce Hambly.

The family will receive friends Friday August 21, 2026 from 10:00 am until the time of funeral services at 12:00 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway, Lorain. Cremation will follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Friendship Animal Protective League, 8303 Murray Ridge Rd, Elyria, OH 44035.
