Florence M. Seres, 83, Avid Green Bay Packers and Dallas Cowboys Fan

Affectionately known by the nicknames of both Flossie and Meemaw, she was a graduate of Amherst High School; Flossie later attended M.B. Johnson School of Nursing at Elyria Memorial Hospital where she graduated with a diploma as a Licensed Practical Nurse.

She had been employed as an LPN in the maternity department of Elyria Memorial for forty-five years prior to her retirement in 2004. Even in post retirement, she was always amazed at the number of people who would stop and remember her for the care and positive memories she fostered during their birthing experiences at Elyria Memorial.

An avid fan of both the Green Bay Packers and Dallas Cowboys, Mrs. Seres found enjoyment in playing bingo as well as collecting Longaberger Baskets and Disney Eeyore memorabilia.

Survivors include her daughters Sheryl Graham of North Ridgeville, Suzanne Seres of Elyria and Stephanie Halfhill (Kevin) of Amherst Township, along with grandchildren Tabitha Riffle, Samantha Seres, Anna Wilson, Lillian Shafer, Zachariah Riffle, Jacksen Halfhill, and Owen Halfhill. She also leaves great grandchildren Mirabelle Cook, Malachi Riffle, Jax Riffle, Malcom Seres, Thatcher Riffle, Rylee Wilson, and Waylon Wilson.

Florence was preceded in death by her husband James J. Seres in 1994, son Scott J. Seres in 2018, father Eugene Borocz in 1987, mother Louise Borocz (nee Young) in 2004, and brother Eugene F. Borocz.

Visitation will be Sunday September 13th from 3:00 until 7:00 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel – 3224 Broadway, Lorain. Closing prayers will take place at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral chapel on Monday with burial immediately following in Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst Township.
