Richard L. Merchant, 78, of Avon Lake passed away Thursday, July 31, 2003 at the Good Samaritan Skilled Nursing Center, Avon. He was born February 24, 1925 in Lorain and moved to Avon Lake in 1969. He was a 1943 graduate of Lorain High School and attended Ohio University for two years. He served in the U.S. Army in Europe during World War II. He was employed as an outside salesman for food products. Richard was an avid golfer and enjoyed hunting.
